Four Al-Shabaab terrorists have been killed and weapons recovered in a battle with military troops in Lamu County.
The incident happened today, Wednesday June 29 at Milimani, near Baure, where one soldier sustained injuries and was airlifted to Mombasa Hospital.
This is the second attack on security officers in barely two weeks. Kenya Defence Forces spokesman David Obonyo said the militants had attempted to attack a rapid deployment unit camp in Mangai at around 8pm on Tuesday evening.
"The operation shall continue until we eliminate all the terrorists inside the forest. Residents should rest assured that we shall protect them," he said.
Obonyo has assured the public that operations against the Al-Shabaab will continue until all the terrorists are eliminated to ensure that that the locals continue to enjoy peace and security.

The militants are reported to have stolen three rifles and 180 rounds of ammunition.
