Wambui said that women should be in the forefront line cleaning hatred portrayed on social media platforms instead of being part of it.

Speaking on Tuesday at a young women politicians' forum at Menengai social hall, Wambui called on young and educated women to un-friend and block friends who engage in spreading hatred and inciting messages.

“As a young and educated woman who has interests on leadership positions you should at all costs desist from participating in the spread of propaganda and hate messages on social media,” said Wambui.

She urged social media users to slam all leaders and bloggers who spread hate messages.

Speaking at the same meeting, Anne Njogu, an activist, urged young women not to give room to inciters.

“If your boyfriend is the kind that posts negative messages on social media you need to part ways, because one day he will turn his negativity on you,” advised Njogu.
