Speaking at Yatta shopping center over the weekend, Mwangangi asked the youth to instead take part in development.

The MP stated that young people have much to do and that engaging in criminal activities should not be an option.

Mwangangi indicated that though unemployment is the major reason leading them to crime, they should shun such activities.

“Young people should dedicate their time and work with leaders in development projects," said the MP.

The MP asked the Machakos county government to work closely with the youth. He said there is need for both the national and the county government to deal with unemployment.

Mwangangi also asked the government to start projects that will absorb the youth in terms of employment.

He said that engaging the youth in development will keep them busy and prevent them from crime.

The lawmaker pledged to fast-track policies and projects that will create more job opportunities to the many unemployed youths.
