Kanu chairman and Baringo Senator Gideon Moi has now said that no pressure from any quarters will chat the political future of his party, warning DP William Ruto to keep off the affairs of the former ruling party.

Speaking at the party headquarters in Nairobi after an NEC meeting, Moi said Kanu was focused on building a united nation and not individuals, promising that the party would soon announce it plans regarding the forthcoming August elections.

“The DP is an individual and I’m focused on building a united and a prosperous nation,” he said as quoted by the Star.

“Kanu is working to serve the interests of Kenyans, not individuals. We will announce our way forward in two weeks," he added.

The Senator, however, insisted that joining any political alignment would be will be guided by Kanu's urge to improve the livelihoods of Kenyans noting that insecurity and hunger were one of the fundamental issues they would consider.

“We are looking at the available options that can help us improve the lives of our people. Insecurity and hunger must be given priority. We demand that the government urgently addresses these issues,” he said.

“The government must play its role of ensuring Kenyans have a good life and access to basics needs,” he added.
