Deputy President William Ruto is free to popularize Jubilee Party in the vast Bomet County on condition that he desists dragging area Governor Isaac Rutto during his tours, Governor Rutto has said.
The two, arguably senior most politicians from Rift Valley, have been embroiled in bitter battles in the past three years in what pundits term as political supremacy battles in the vote rich region.
Last week, the DP toured the region during a voter registration campaign and urged locals to vote for his Jubilee Party in all electoral seats.
"I do not have any issues with the DP because he is not competing against me. He is free to popularize Jubilee Party anywhere in Bomet," he said.
"He should however, desist from dragging my name in his campaigns and that is the respect I am calling for. We should always do the right thing at the right time," he told his supporters at Konoin.
Rutto also maintained his Cha Cha Mashinani party will field candidates in all elective positions a part from presidency in August.
