Mombasa Governor Hassan Joho has told his opponents to stop meddling in his personal life.
Speaking during an interview on KTN on Tuesday, Joho said his opponents have been accusing him of being involved in drug trafficking.
"I have never been involved in selling drugs as claimed by my opponents. People spreading this false information should seek an alternative way of beating me politically,” he said.
The Mombasa County boss said he uses his free time to socialize with people around him and not in dealing drugs.
He urged leaders behind the false allegations to engage in constructive activities that will benefit the people of Kenya.
He said politics of failed development agenda should be ousted from Kenya for the benefit of each citizen, adding that the country should be transparent and fair to every citizen.
He further accused the Jubilee government for failing to fight corruption in the country, saying the move has affected Kenyans.
"I condemn such politics of failed promises. Jubilee leaders have been engaged in a couple of illegal actions especially corruption. Kenyans are suffering because the Jubilee government has not fulfilled the promises made during the 2013 campaigns,” he said.
He faulted President Uhuru Kenyatta for allegedly failing to provide county governments with enough resources, to enable them to deliver services to residents effectively.
"If I were President Kenyatta, I would have given enough resources to the counties for effective leadership. Jubilee has however opted to engage in corruption among other illegal activities, leaving many Kenyans struggling in life despite the many resources we have in the country,” he added.
