Mombasa County Commissioner Evans Achoki has warned residents especially youth against being used by politicians to disrupt peace during this electioneering period.Achoki said law enforcers will not tolerate acts of intolerance and hooliganism during the campaign period.Speaking in Mombasa on Tuesday, the county commissioner asked youth to keep off politicians who would want to incite them to violence.He said law enforcers are on alert and will not hesitate to arrest perpetrators of violence.“We are appealing to youth to keep off politicians who will want to lure them to violence this election period,” said Achoki, as quoted by the Standard.The Mombasa County Commissioner also warned politicians who perpetuate incitement saying they will be arrested.He said county security officials are working closely with the National Cohesion and Integration Commission (NCIC), the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) and other State agencies to tame hate mongers.Achoki urged politicians to exercise tolerance even as they conduct their campaigns.He assured locals of safety before, during and after the August 8 polls.
