Mombasa Senator Hassan Omar has asked Coast Regional Coordinator Nelson Marwa to stop meddling in the county's politics ahead of the August polls.Omar, who has declared interest in the governor seat, said by interfering with Mombasa politics, Marwa was giving mileage to certain politicians in the county.“Please Marwa, keep off politics because you are giving politicians in this county who do not deserve leadership sympathy that can rope them to victory,” said Omar, as quoted by The Star. This comes after Marwa called for the arrest and prosecution of Mombasa Governor Hassan Joho’s cousin Said ‘Saido’ Abdhalla and Jomvu MP Badi Twalib.Marwa said Saido who is eying the Nyali parliamentary seat should be probed for allegedly buying youth in the county alcohol before using them to intimidate his political rivals.Saido, however, rubbished the claims, and maintained he is innocent. “There is nothing like that. My record is clear. Those are his stories,” Abdhalla said.Omar also said Joho will come to the defense of Saido, and ensure he gets sympathy votes.“Tomorrow Saido will be called to the police station and Joho, who has been quiet for almost a month, will come out to defend him and before you realise, it he will be diverting the agenda again,” said Omar.
