Education Cabinet Secretary Fred Matiangi has been warned against ‘meddling’ in opposition affairs and instead told to concentrate on his job.
On Saturday, Matiangi reportedly said opposition leader Raila Odinga was unfit to lead the country during a fund drive in Kisii.
The remarks have attracted immense criticism with North Mugirango MP Charles Geni warning the CS against engaging in politics.
“Matiangi was given a job to do and not meddling in our (ODM) affairs. He should keep off Raila Odinga if he wants peace with us. He should instead face us directly rather than hiding,” he said.
“I wonder how he can be able to tell if someone can lead or not. Gusii community is in ODM and that will remain a fact for a long time. Jubilee has done very little to improve our people’s livelihoods,” he added.
Matiangi is the key point’s man for President Uhuru Kenyatta in Gusii region and is said to be leading a group of top politicians from both Nyamira and Kisii Counties in Jubilee campaigns.
