Supporters of Wundanyi MP Thomas Madeghu have warned Mombasa Governor Hassan Joho against interfering with the politics of the county.They said Joho was elected in Mombasa and should desist from meddling in Taita Taveta affairs.They spoke in reaction to claims that Joho is using his influence as ODM deputy party leader to twist ODM nomination elections results in which Mwadeghu beat Taita Taveta Governor John Mruttu in the county chief’s favour.“Let this sound as a warning to Governor Joho. He should confine his politics within Mombasa County. He was elected in Mombasa and he has no business interfering with the affairs of Taita Taveta. Mruttu after defeat announced his departure from ODM. What is he returning to do in the party?” ODM Voi Chairman John Mwaganga told journalists.Mwadeghu beat Mruttu during the ODM nominations and is yet to receive his nomination certificate.ODM elections disputes tribunal has been working round the clock to solve the party nomination stalemate after Mruttu petitioned Mwadeghu’s declaration as winner of the poll.Mwadeghu maintains he clearly won the election and deserves to be issued with the nomination certificate to take on Senator Dan Mwazo who was handed a direct Jubilee Party ticket to run for the seat of governor.ODM party leader Raila Odinga is at cross-roads over who to support between Mwadeghu and Mruttu since both politicians wield immense influence in the county. Both are also close allies of the opposition chief.Mwadeghu took up the opposition of deputy whip in Parliament after Kilifi North MP Gideon Mungaro parted ways with ODM and joined President Uhuru Kenyatta’s Jubilee Party.
