Kiambu Governor William Kabogo has asked politicians in the county to keep politics out of development.
Speaking at Githiga town centre in Githunguri on Thursday when he issued bursary funds to needy but bright students, Kabogo said that some politicians were using their petty politics to block development.
He said that development in some parts of the county has been halted because of politicians’ interference.
“Politicians should keep their petty politics out of development and allow my government to advance development across Kiambu,” he said.
Kabogo said that people were missing on services because of some politicians selfish interests.
“Instead of politicians supporting the county government to realize development for all residents they were blocking it,” he said.
“Such politicians have no interests of the people and only want to serve their own selfish interests,” added Kabogo. The Kiambu governor asked politicians to focus on serving the electorate who elected them to office.
He said that every leader will be held accountable for what he or she has done for the locals when their term ends.
At the same time, Kabogo urged residents to support his government as it seeks to propel development.
The Kiambu governor said that county has achieved much development and made most services accessible to the people.
