Kiambu nominated MCA Mary Mwangi has warned Kiambu County leaders against engaging Thika Sub-county in dirty politics, saying Thika has been peaceful and very distinct from other sub-counties in the county.
Speaking on Tuesday at the Thika CDF offices during a function presided over by the are MP Alice Ng’ang’a, the MCA said that some leaders are playing politics with Thika sub-county’s development, which have all been spearheaded by the area MP.
She said that when the MP started the Thika Education Trust Fund, some politicians never thought it would succeed and are now against the MP to bring down the project.
“When the MP started this kitty some leaders thought it was just something which was not possible. But now since they can see how the Education Trust Fund is working successfully, they have sworn to go against the MP with this kitty,” said Mwangi.
She went on to congratulate the MP for the development in the constituency, further reminding her to check on the lighting of Starehe and Juakali areas of Thika town to guarantee the residents security.
The MP gave Sh4 million worth of cheques to university students from her constituency courtesy of Thika education Trust fund that is a kitty from the MP’s friends in parliament and other businessmen and well-wishers within Thika Sub-county.
