Kibera MP Ken Okoth has blamed the management of Kenyatta National Hospital for the crimes allegedly done on women patients at the facility.

The legislator blamed the hospital's management saying they had let down residents, taking them as second class citizens.

"The CEO of Kenyatta National Hospital has failed. Under her leadership since 2012/2013, everything at KNH has gone from bad to worse. From the cancer treatment to casualty, from the parking to the laundry. The CEO of KNH and the Board of KNH must go home; we need a new leadership team in place," he posted on Facebook.

"As MP of Kibra, this hospital is in my constituency and we have had too many cases of Kibra people treated as second-class citizens, denied treatment, or simply dehumanised. The letter below shows the attitude and arrogance and indifference of KNH management. If mothers of newborns can share details such as "piga kelele tukufanye mananasi" ... there is something serious and the management is joking. It's not funny at all," he added.

Okoth further said that it was time leaders moved in to change the management at the hospital.

"We must change the KNH management now and bring in new leadership," he said.

Okoth reached out to President Uhuru Kenyatta and his deputy WIlliam Ruto asking them to immediately move in and see to it that the management is changed.
