Jubilee Party's proposed amendments to the election laws has received backing from Africa Electoral Observation Group lead researcher Kenneth Orengo.
Contrary to the time element IEBC has been using to reject the changes, Orengo said that the amendments were timely and would help to avert any crisis in the October 26 fresh presidential poll.
He encouraged IEBC to standardise their documents during the election so as to avoid another nullification of results due to human errors.
"I agree with the amendment that if there are discrepancies due to human error in the electronic system, the manual method should prevail. It the responsibility of the commission to standardise its documents," Orengo said.
Orengo said that the four Supreme Court judges who nullified the election results did not consider whether or not noncompliance affected the final election outcome.
