A group of Kijabe youths have come up with a new way to earn a living out of rearing kenbro chicken and selling them after they are mature to the nearby towns.
The youths contribute money and buy these chicken and fatten them for sale. After maturity, the chicken are sold to the big hotels in Kijabe town and Limuru as well.
The group chairman Douglas Mwangi, through his Facebook page on Friday, said many of them in the group were jobless before coming up with the idea.
"Many of us had to find something to do after walking day and night looking for employment to no avail.That is how we ended up with this initiative," Mwangi posted.
He added that their main source of money is through their profits and savings.
"The coming together of all of us was a blessing. Today all the 15 members in this group have a good life. We never thought we could make a living from chicken till we started it," he added
