The Kenya Electricity Generating Company limited (KenGen) has revealed plans to upgrade hydro stations in Uasin Gishu county.
Speaking on Wednesday after paying a courtesy call to Uasin Gishu County Deputy Governor Daniel Chemno, the company's area manager Western Kenya region, Frank Konuche announced that the upgrade is aimed at improving the energy sector in the area.
"The visit my team and I paid the Uasin Gishu County administration was to discuss various issues on upgrading hydro power stations in the region to enhance livelihoods by supplying more power to towns, schools as well as bringing down the cost of power by expanding power generating stations," Konuche confirmed.
