The process of handing over Timboroa Roadside Market Stalls for management by the County Government of Uasin Gishu has started.
The Kenya National Highways Authority (KenHA) established the 61 market stalls as the road maker was upgrading the Eldoret-Nakuru Highway.
Deputy Governor Daniel Chemno on Wednesday morning hosted officials from KenHA and Kenya Forest Service for a courtesy visit.
Among the issues discussed were how the three stakeholders will team up for the eventual handing over activity.
The County Government of Uasin Gishu has established a committee to be chaired by Trade CeC Dr Emily Kogos, that will ready the facilities for the handing over.
The committee will spearhead provision of services as water and lay down logistics for garbage collection.
The meeting was attended by, among others, Roads and Transport CeC, Eng Gideon Birir and Chief Officer for Trade, Simon Cheplel.
