Anxiety has gripped residents of Kiamunyi and Mercy Njeri in Rongai Nakuru after the Kenya National Highways Authority (KenHA) insisted that it will demolish structures built on road reserves.
This comes at a time when those affected still lament that they were not given the notice to pull down their houses.
However, KenHA Public Relations Officer Charles Njogu, in a telephone interview, said they will continue demolishing illegal structures.
Njogu said all those to be affected have been notified.
Eng H.N Kirika, whose house was demolished last week, said his house had not been marked for demolition when KenHA pulled them down.
He said that immediately the media aired his plight markings was done at night.
The civil engineer said that he involved government surveyor before conducting any construction work adding that he intends to move to court to seek redress.
