Nairobi gubernatorial aspirant Peter Kenneth has dismissed claims that he attempted to bribe senator Miko Sonko to drop his gubernatorial bid in his favour as 'misplaced'.
Kenneth, who unsuccessfully contested for 2013 presidential elections, further says he is ready to face his Jubilee party competitors in nominations.
The two, are among the favourites to challenge ODM's Evans Kidero, who will be seeking to defend his seat in an already crowded competition.
"Those are misplaced claims because I won't have a reason to bribe Sonko. I don;t think he carries voters in his pocket," he told KTN on Saturday.
He added: "I don't think a sober man can give someone Sh1bn in the name of seeking leadership. That is a lot of money to spend on such nonsense."
The Jubilee party is largely divided with only seven months to elections with Dennis Waweru, Margret Wanjiru and Johnson Sajaka also keen to clinch the party's ticket.
Kenneth resigned from Kenya National Congress few months ago and joined Jubilee party, a move that wasn't welcome by the establishment withing Jubilee administration.
