Former Gatanga MP Peter Kenneth has ditched the Jubilee Party and announced he will go for the Nairobi governor post as an independent candidate.
Kenneth, who was defeated by Senator Mike Sonko in the Jubilee primaries, said the party's nominations were shambolic and that the party failed to act on the malpractice concerns he had earlier raised.
"There were cases of ballot stuffing and non-members taking part in the nominations. In short, the elections were stolen," he said on Friday while addressing the media.
Kenneth added that the 93 appeals out of the possible 105 seats being contested in the nominations was a sure indication of rigging.
