Jubilee Nairobi primaries have been moved to Wednesday, Secretary General Raphael Tuju has said.

Tuju did not give reasons for the postponement of the polls were earlier scheduled for Monday.

Nairobi Senator Mike Sonko and former Gatanga MP Peter Kenneth are in talks to produce the next Nairobi gubernatorial candidate on the Jubilee ticket.

According to sources within the party, a consesnus had not been reached on by Sunday evening, prompting the party to push the Nairobi nominations to Wednesday this week.

Sonko and Kenneth were initially in the Team Nairobi group with Nominated MP Johnson Sakaja, former Starehe MP Bishop Margaret Wanjiru and Dagoretti South MP David Waweru before Kenneth opted out and stepped up his campaigns to defeat Sonko, arguably his toughest rival.

The said meeting between the senator and Kenneth comes at a time Deputy President William Ruto pledged to use his hand to ensure the primaries go as planned.

Ruto is said to have held a closed-door meeting with top Jubilee officials at the party's headquarters in Nairobi and it is believed that key among the issues discussed was the Sonko-Kenneth stalemate.
