Nairobi governorship hopeful Peter Kenneth has challenged his rivals in Jubilee Party to embrace unity ahead of the party's primaries.
Speaking on Wednesday when he hosted Jubilee Party aspirants drawn from Nairobi County, the former Gatanga MP further urged Jubilee Party to prepare adequately for the nomination exercise to ensure the process is free and fair.
"As we start this journey we will seat together, all aspirants and incumbents equally so that we walk together and rescue Nairobi from the drains," he said.
In an apparent reference to Nairobi Senator Mike Sonko, Kenneth also hit out at his opponents within Jubilee, noting that he will not be exchanging insults with them.
"People are insulting me hoping that I will retaliate, but I am sorry to disappoint them as I was well trained to know that people will tell the difference between myself and others by what we speak," he said.
"I am only interested in discussing issues and agendas and not discussing who looks whatever way and we have no apologies to make to anyone," he added.
Kenneth is facing stiff competition from the Nairobi Senator in the race for the Jubilee Party ticket.
