Former Gatanga MP Peter Kenneth has said he is ready to work with Nairobi Swenator elect Mike Sonko.
Kenneth made the remarks when he conceded defeat to Sonko on Wednesday.
In a statement, Kenneth who was vying as an independent candidate, said he has respected the people's decision.
"I accept the results and congratulate the incoming governor Mike Sonko. I wish him Godspeed as he takes on the enormous task."
Kenneth was running against Sonko, incumbent Evans Kidero, Miguna Miguna (Independent) in a race that attracted eight candidates.
"Having traversed all 85 wards in the city, I have witnessed first hand the enormity of the suffering of Nairobians."
"The incoming governor has his work cut out and needs the support of each and every Nairobian to succeed. He can count on my support," he said.
Early results showed that Kenneth was third with 41,367 votes with the incumbent Dr Evans Kidero (ODM) getting 663,830 votes.
Kidero has rejected the results.
