The Kenya Air Force as one of the three services of the Kenya Defence Forces is mandated to assist and cooperate with other authorities in situations of emergency and disaster.

In a communication on Friday morning, Kenya Air Force said it will continue to fulfill this role.

On Thursday, the Kenya Air Force alongside Kilifi Governor Amason Kingi and the Kenya Red Cross Society evacuated 65 people who had been marooned by water in Mbogolo/Gama.

The rains have continued to pound in Kilifi, rendering families homeless and destroying crops.

Magarini and Malindi Sub-counties are hard hit by the floods since over 3,000 people are still stranded and require urgent assistance to safer grounds.
