National Carrier Kenya Airways has renewed its code-share agreement with Egyptian counterparts EgyptAir on the busy Nairobi-Cairo route as KQ seeks to improve air connectivity in North Africa.

The deal which effected from June  1, has enabled KQ to resume its direct flights to Cairo after suspending them in August 2013.

The code-share partnership targets to initially cover six destinations including Istanbul, Cairo, Mombasa, Dar es Salaam, Harare and Lusaka.

“Our guests will now be able to enjoy flights to Cairo either directly from Nairobi or through Entebbe or Khartoum,” Kenya Airways Managing director Sebastian Mikosz said.

Mikosz said that the partnership will benefit member states by enhancing bilateral trade and also offer offering passengers more fluid connectivity between the two countries.
