Kenya Airways has been stopped from replacing staff sacked in the technical department.
The Employment and Labour Relations Court on Tuesday ordered that the flight company refrains from replacing the engineers they sacked last week.
Another 131 striking engineers found solace after the court suspended their sacking.
“Pending inter-partes hearing and determination of this application, an order be and is hereby issued against the respondent directing the suspension of the purported dismissal of the applicants and maintenance of the status quo with no loss of seniority, privileges, salary, benefits and allowances,” the court order stated.
On Wednesday last week, about 140 KQ technicians and engineers went on a go-slow demanding better pay, a move that threatened large scale flight cancellation and service disruption.
