Deputy President William Ruto has said the Jubilee administration will not sit and watch the country plunge into anarchy.
Speaking to mourners at the burial of late Nyeri governor Wahome Gakuru, the president said they will keep working towards bettering the country and that the opposition will not derail them on this.
While castigating the Opposition for the Friday violence that left five people dead, Ruto said the country belonged to God and that therefore it ws upon citizens to defend it.
"Kenya belongs to God and its too important to us. We will not let it go in the way of chaos, division and bloodshed because under Uhuru we have a future as the nation," he said.
"We will not allow this country to go down the path of anarchy, tribalism, satanism, there is no way will succumb to blackmail, we believe in the Constitution and the wishes of a few people will never come to pass, Kenya will never be a country of chaos," he added.
