The Kenya National Chamber of Commerce and Industry and business leaders have welcomed the ruling made by Judge David Maraga to uphold the win of President Uhuru saying that business had suffered greatly due to uncertainty resulting from the annulment of the president's win earlier by the Supreme Court.

Speaking in Nairobi, the Chamber of Commerce chair Mr. Kiprono Kittony congratulated President Uhuru on his win and pleaded with him to move with speed to stabilize the economy and business environment.

The chair noted that this has been the most difficult and challenging period of all during an election season for a majority of businesses in the country.

He pointed out systematic failure of companies like Uchumi and Nakumatt arising from various factors such as caps on interest rates, a general cash crunch and even County governments not receiving their share of revenue as the biggest challenges that faced business in the country.

KEPPSA estimates that the economy has lost a whoppingSh700 billion during the election period.

He appealed to President Kenyatta to curve for himself a legacy of a United country as soon as he is sworn in and asked him to bridge the widening gap between communities in order for the nation to be stable.
