Funyula MP Paul Otuoma on Thursday told Parliament Majority Leader Aden Duale to stop behaving as if Kenya belongs to him.
Otuoma who addressed the media outside Nairobi's Milimani Law Courts after Cord MPs petitioned the passage of the proposed amendments to the Elections Act 2011 said Kenya belongs to over 40 million Kenyans who have the right to live decent lives.
"Kenya does not belong to Duale or a single Kenyan," the former ODM Deputy Chairman said.
"Kenya belongs to many people who deserve to be respected. You cannot come and start bulldozing things, you cannot use the army because Kenya is a democratic country because the Constitution says it is a democracy."
Duale, who is Garissa Township MP has vehemently supported the amendment to the electoral law which, seeks to allow manual transmission of voter results during the 2017 polls.
"It has been clear since 2014 that the ODM leader (Raila Odinga) does not want an election because he knows he will lose next year as he did in 1997, 2007 and 2013," Duale said during the passage of the laws on Thursday.
"His violent crusade against the outgoing IEBC earlier in the year, and the ridiculous opposition to a back up to election technology tell the whole story."
As Jubilee MPs passed the proposed amendment in Parliament, Cord MPs took to the streets to protest after allegedly saying their Jubilee counterparts attacked them in the House.
