The Kenyan government has sent as donations 11 tons of medical supplies to the Federal Government of Somalia.
This was part of a humanitarian gesture towards helping victims of the recent terror attack in the country's capital Mogadishu.
The supplies were airlifted and handed over by Retired Maj Gen (Rtd) Lucas Tumbo to the Ambassador of Kenya to Somalia Fawziya Abikar the Minister of Health and Social Services and Thabit Abdi Mohamed, the Mayor of Mogadishu.
“We have 11 tons of assorted medicines. I am also ready to take about 26 patients for admission in Nairobi hospitals. Those who have spinal injuries, we’ll take them to the spinal hospital in Nairobi. We are here to say that we are very sorry for what happened. We pray that God grants the necessary fortitude for you to endure the great loss,” Ambassador Tumbo said while handing over the drugs.
“Today, I am here on behalf of the Kenyan Government and the people of Kenya to send to our heartfelt condolences to the bereaved families. Those who did that will be brought to book and held accountable on the Day of Judgment,” Ambassador Tumbo added.
