County governments have been urged to take advantage of the willingness of European markets to train farmers in improving exportation standard requirements on their produce.
Kenya mainly depends on agriculture for economic growth and food. Kenyan farmers will benefit heavily on this imitative because Europe countries do not depend on agriculture for the growth of their GDP.
County governments should invest in infrastructure to allow farmers get access to information and exportation of their produce which should reach the standard requirements for exportation.
Kenyas’ ambassador to Belgium Johnson Weru said that Kenya farmers have a lot to benefit from European market and he urged the county government to set up quality laboratories that will enable farmers to meet the health standards required for the exports of their produce.
President Uhuru Kenyatta is expected in Belgium for a two-day visit where he is expected to address the issue of steps in which Kenya is making to ensure meet Sustainable Development Goals
