The Kenya National U17 football team wrapped up the Council for East and Central Africa Football Associations (CECAFA) under U17 Championships experience in Burundi with a fourth-place finish.

The Kenyan Boys lost 1-4 to neighbors Uganda in the third-place playoff match played at the Ngozi stadium in Burundi, on Saturday April 28, 2018.

The loss followed Kenya’s 1-2 defeat to Tanzania in the semifinals played on April 25. 

In total, Kenya played five matches in the course of the youth tournament, winning one, losing three and managing a draw in one. 

The team forms part of Football Kenya Federation’s (FKF) long-term football development agenda, which involves around giving the youth a sporting chance early in their football development life cycle.

FKF has already put up the U20 and the U23 football sides.Tanzania will play Somalia in the CECAFA U-17 tourney on Sunday.

The team was led by head coach Michael Amenga, and former Gor Mahia Captain Jerim Onyango.
