[Photo|the nigerian]The government, through the Ministry of Foreign Affairs has sent a total of 11 tonnes of assorted medicines to the neighbouring Somalia.This is after over 274 people were killed, in a suspected terrorist bombing in Mogadishu over the weekend (Saturday), leaving several others seriously injured.Foreign Affairs Cabinet Secretary Amb Amina Mohammed, has indicated that two aircrafts left the country to Mogadishu, with the medicines, to help survivors of the bomblast who are receiving treatment.She said the aircrafts will in turn come back, carrying some of the injured victims of the attack, to be treated in our hospitals. Addressing journalists, Tuesday, Amb Mohammed also indicated that the Kenyan government was in talks with the Federal Republic of Somalia, to see if more help will be offered, in various areas.Security experts say the bombing is first of its kind in Somalia, a country that is widely under terrorism attacks by the Al-Qaeda linked Al-Shabaab.President Uhuru Kenyatta sent his condolence message to the government of Somalia, which has since declared state of mourning for the lost lives.No terrorist group has since claimed responsibility of the attack.
