The United Nations Secretary General Ban Ki Moon and President Kenyatta are now calling on the South Sudan leaders to maintain peace.
Speaking at a joint press conference in Statehouse, Ban Ki Moon commended President Kenyatta in his pivotal role in ensuring peace and security in the region.
At the same time, Ban thanked the Kenyan government and its citizens for their hospitality in hosting refugees from Somalia and other troubled nations.
On his part, President Kenyatta called for a review of the mandate of the United Nations Mission in south Sudan.
He further lauded the South Sudan leaders for declaring a unilateral ceasefire, saying it was imperative if both parties directed their energies to empowering the Joint Military Ceasefire commission as a way to address any rising issues.
Meanwhile, The Burundi Government has also been asked to be more inclusive to end the crisis facing the country.
Ban was in the country to attend the 14th summit of the United Nations Conference on Trade and Development that started on Sunday.
