Kenya has been handed a tough draw in the Commonwealth Games Rugby Sevens slated for April 13-15.
Kenya will face a familiar opponent in New Zealand in the Gold Coast, Australia games, having faced the All Blacks in the last Commonwealth Games.
During the tournament that was held in Glasgow, Scotland, Kenya went down 19-7 in the quarterfinals and will look to revenge the loss.
The team has been placed in Group D, which has Canada and other Africa representatives Zambia. Innocent Simiyu’s charges have vowed to ensure they finish within the medal bracket in this year’s games, and are preparing well for the same according to the manager.
Their female counterparts have also been given a tough group, where they will square it out with Canada, New Zealand and archrivals South Africa.
