There is no room for anyone planning violent street riots in Kenya.

This is according to Deputy President William Ruto.

Speaking at a Jubilee rally on Saturday, Ruto accused the opposition NASA of organising street demos that turned violent and led to the loss of property and lives.

"Anybody organising street riots where property is destroyed and lives are lost should know that there is no room for such in independent Kenya," Ruto said.

He insisted that the country now needs leaders who will help drive the agenda of development and not what he termed as divisive politics.

He applauded the Jubilee government for ensuring that more households are connected to the national electricity grid as well as tarmacking roads across the country.

"We have also connected over 200,000 household to electricity, up from 90,000," he said.

He was speaking in Kajiado where he was in the company of President Uhuru Kenyatta, governors Joseph ole Lenku (Kajiado) and Mike Sonko (Nairobi); Kajiado Woman Rep Janet Teiyaa among others.
