The Kenyan government has imposed a ban on the export of avocadoes amid a severe shortage and high global demand of the fruit.The move was announced by the Directorate of Horticulture and Food Authority.This is aimed at satisfying the domestic market where the demand is also high.The shortage of the fruit has fueled a spike in the prices but experts contend that they are set to go down in the coming months as the Hass variety hits the market in March.
