Former Subukia MP Koigi Wa Wamwere has said that the nation is suffering from bad leadership.
Speaking on Radio Sauti ya Mwananchi on Saturday, the ex-lawmaker said this has led to scandals in the country.
He accused political leaders of a poor job, saying that majority of them lack leadership qualities and are in the field to fulfill their own political and economic goals.
"Leadership in Kenya is no longer a calling to serve as should be the case, but has turned into a profession where people get into for wealth and power," he said.
He also blamed the leaders for the nation's economic hardship, resulting from the government's rising debts, noting that the country needs a set of lasting solutions for the shortcomings, which have translated to rising poverty levels.
"We might have gained our independence which was the first liberation and the second one against dictatorship. The nation now needs the third liberation from bad leadership and economic distress," Koigi said.
