[Photo: capitalfm.co.ke]Kenya has lost another opportunity to host a global event, thanks to the ongoing political bickering that has engulfed the country with a cloud of uncertainty.State House Spokesperson Manoah Esipisu on Sunday said the stripping of the hosting the rights is as a result of on ongoing political uncertainty, caused by 'sections of the opposition political class'.This comes weeks after Kenya was stripped of rights to host the 2018 African Nationals Championship."On Thursday last week, the Cabinet was informed that UNAIDS had now cancelled Kenya's hosting of a Global Prevention Coalition Meeting scheduled for Nairobi October 10-11, informed by the perception of uncertainty fueled by those who wish to see anarchy reign," Esipisu said as quoted by the Star.He said that the meeting would have brought thousands of experts to Kenya to discuss strengthening and sustaining leadership and commitment to prevention of HIV and Aids."This would have meant booming business for transport and logistics operations, restaurants, interpreters, and so on. Lost opportunities. As a country, we must return to certainty. We may not always agree with the institutions mandated to perform certain functions, but we must respect their decisions," he added.
