Kenya has landed an admission to the assembly of the International Maritime Organisation (IMO) for the next two years.
It will now join four other African countries to the 40-Member Council.
In a statement on Saturday, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs said the decision was made during the IMO’s elections for states to be part of its Council for the 2018-2019 biennium.
The only other African countries in the 40-member council are Egypt, Liberia, Morocco and South Africa.
