Kenya joins the rest of the world in marking World Toilet Day, Saturday.
Marked on November 19, annually, the day raises awareness and inspire action to tackle the global sanitation crisis.
Under the theme: "Toilets and Jobs", the Ministry of Health leads the celebrations in Isiolo County, with aims to support the Kenya Vision 2030 Open Defecation Free Mission.
According to the Health Ministry, only 3 out of 10 Kenyans have access to improved sanitation in urban and rural areas, while the UN-Water estimates that 2.4 billion people are struggling to stay well, keep their children alive and work their way to a better future, for the want of a toilet.
In 2013, the United Nations General Assembly officially designated November 19 as World Toilet Day.
The day is coordinated by UN-Water in collaboration with governments and partners
