Kenya’s founder member of the leading champion group in the 1990’s multiparty agitation Ahmed Bamahriz has died.
Mr Bamahriz succumbed on Saturday after a long battle with illness.
Speaking to the nation through phone, Kenya’s ambassador to Oman, Mohammed Dor, confirmed the death and expressed condolences to the family.
Bamahriz served as an elected as councillor (now MCA) in Mombasa Municipality between 1979 and 1992.
In the 90s, Bamahriz was detained by the Kanu regime for the agitation they staged towards multiparty democracy.
