Kenya Pipeline volleyball team looks set to clinch this season’s title, after another win against their closest rivals Kenya Prisons.

Head coach Japheth Munala lauded his girls for the stunning victory, edging the prisons team in three straight sets of 25-19, 25-19, 25-15 in the Kenya Volleyball Federation playoffs.

Their win brought them close to the title, which they won last year. They will face Western Bombers in their next match.

Pipeline have in the last three years won the title, underlining their status as the best team in the country.

In this year’s play offs so far, the team has won its opening two matches, and sit atop the table with six points.

Their closest challengers Prisons are second with three points, while KCB have three points as well. Western Bombers, having lost their first two matches are pointless at the bottom of the table.

GSU thrashed defending champions Kenya Prisons in the men category, downing them by three sets to one of 27-25,25-15,15-25,25-18.

Their win gave them hope of winning the title which they last won in 2015, having won their first two games and sitting top of their group with six points.

A win for GSU against Cooperative Bank on Sunday will earn them the title.

The play offs are played at Makande Gymnasium in Mombasa.
