Residents of an estate in Juja, Kiambu County are up in arms against Kenya Power after going without power for the last one month.
The residents of Ellimerak Estate complain that the Kenya Power has neglected them for failing to restore electricity in the estate.
Led by Mr Milton Kinuthia who is the estate’s chairman, they complained that they have taken their grievances to Kenya Power offices in Thika but their problem is yet to be resolved.
Kinuthia said that they have been in darkness for over a month and have no hope of getting electricity back soon.
Kinuthia noted that the power outage was caused by heavy rains which had been pounding the area for the past few weeks.
He grieved about the performance of their children in schools because they cannot do their private studies or homework at night for lack of electricity.
