Residents and traders of Metembe, Nyamira County now want Kenya Power to repair a transformer that went off leaving them in the dark for four days now.
Speaking at Metembe shopping centre, the traders accused the power distributor of failing to immediate take action on the matter.
They said their businesses have been paralysed and are incurring great losses.
"We are unable to run our businesses until late in the night due to power blackouts. The transformer also serves Metembe market and primary," said Milka Mokora, a trader.
Jared Mayaka, a teacher at Metembe Primary said the power outage has affected morning preps at the school.
"As a community we urge Kenya Power technicians in the region to help us to replace the transformer to ensure our businesses are not affected," said Jared.
