This follows a Tuesday night incident in which one transformer was vandalised by unknown people at Annex estate.

According to Paul Nyaga, a Kenya Power official, this was the second incident to happen in the area this month.

"We used to have over 15 cases of vandalism within a month in the past and we managed to bring them down to four but its now barely past half a month and we already lost two transformers," lamented Nyaga.

"With the increase of the cases, we are now stepping up measures to curb this vandalism in conjunction with the police as well as implement technical measures to guard the transformers," he added while urging those living near the transformers to help ensure they are not vandalised.

Residents of Annex will now be forced to remain in the dark as Kenya Power works on replacing the transformer.
