Kenya Power customers have been urged to embrace new technology instead of always having long queues in the name of paying electricity Bill. 

Speaking on Wednesday during a media dinner, the North Rift Manager Daniel Tare said that their is no need to have long cues in the Kenya power offices since most of their services have been automated. Therefore, customers can access their services from comfort of their homes. 

"We have automated most of our services such as paying of electricity bills, toll free numbers to reach our customer care and bills inquiries. All these can be gotten through sending a message to 905551 and all your queries will be answered without having to come to our offices," he said.  

He warned customers to however beware of fraudsters who siphon money from them in the name of workers of Kenya power and yet they are not. 

"I urge our esteemed customers to ensure that any transaction conducted should be accompanied with a receipt, and anyone purports to be a Kenya power staff should show his/her ID card. You can also send an SMS starting with the letter E followed by the ID no to 95551 to confirm if he or she is a genuine Kenya Power staff," he added
