A Kenya Power employee died in Kisumu County while his mate was hospitalised in hospital with serious injuries after the two were electrocuted on Thursday night.
According to kenyans.co.ke, the two were among three workers replacing a transformer in Kanyamedha village but unfortunately the powers were restored while two of them were still on duty.
Kenya Power has released a statement saying the three were working on an isolated line, and has launched investigations to know what exactly happened.
“The company regrets the occurrence and will do everything possible to support the affected families,” part of the statement read.
Police have confirmed the incident, saying that the injured worker has been taken to Avenue Hospital for treatment.
This comes less than six months after a similar incident occurred in Nakuru.
