The Kenya Power has appointed a new board chairman who will take over from his predecessor the former National Assembly speaker Mr Kenneth Marende.
The change of guard at the power house was done on Tuesday and now Ambassador Mahboub Maalim will be the new board chairman.
Maalim has in the past served as the Executive Secretary of the Intergovernmental Authority on Development (IGAD).
The new chairman comes in at a time that the public has accused Kenya Power over inflated electricity bills that stand at Sh8.1 billion, however Energy and Petroleum Cabinet Secretary Charles Keter, said the inflated bills have been a challenge for Kenya Power which has since switched to a new billing system, with the CS adamant that bill estimation would no longer be allowed.
