Kenya power was forced to issue a public statement after a section of the country was on Tuesday evening plunged into darkness following blackout. 

In it's press release, the electricity company noted that there was power system disturbance that led to the loss of electricity supply but assured that engineers were battling to identify the fault and restore power supply as quickly as possible.
